Double flared, concave face Obsidian plugs made in a "Mayan" flared style. This means the front flare is considerably larger than the saddle (in this case, approximately 6mm) while the rear flare remains a standard flare size. This creates a great visual effect of a large face on the jewelry. The style itself is a traditional style of making plugs throughout several cultures, including not only those of clay and jadeite/green stones in Mesoamerica, but also some silver work of Southeast Asian cultures. This particular set of jewelry has some beautiful silver sheen banding.
The wearable length for this set is about 11mm, and the rear flare measures about 1.5mm larger than the saddle.
