Modified crescents carved from French Boxwood, a European boxwood generally utilized for fine small scale woodworking, particularly instrument making. Coloration is bright yellow to ashy/dirty yellow. A very dense, extremely fine grained wood.

The 260 day Mayan calendar lists "Muluc" as the 9th day, a symbol that represents water or possibly a thunderstorm or gathering of rain. The spelling we have used is indicative of 16th c. Yukatek, and modern spelling will list this word as "muluk." We thought that this design lent itself well to the "muluc" heiroglyph, with the larger upper portion representing the cloud, rain streaming downward.
