These beautifully patterned spirals are hand carved from Picture Jasper, a stone with subtle sandy brown marbling and darker brown dendritic shapes.

Picture Jasper is a petrified or silicated mud. It is well known for its unusual banding that sometimes takes on the resemblance of landscapes and "pictures," and over time, people dubbed it with the name "Picture Jasper."
