A double flared ebony plug with a carved Mesoamerican flower motif. Xochitl (pronounced So Cheel) means "flower" in Nahuatl, the Aztec language. Flowers play a large symbolic part in Mesoamerican culture, having been identified as representative of the underworld, and used for decorative as well as ritual/worship purposes in the form of entheogens (mind altering substances for divination and spirit journeys) and god associations. In creating the Xochitl we wish to honor mankind's complex relationship with medicinal and spiritually relevant plants.
