I figured I should get off my rear and get some of this stuff posted up
These are all new original Onetribe LLC designs that will be going into production later in the year. There are a few that are going to be limited edition. One of those is our Chaak mask, which is shown here in 1″ from Bloodwood, but we can do it at other sizes and in other materials. We will likely only do a limited run of a certain number of sets. As you can see, they are branded on the back. They measure 1.5″ wide at the ears and 3″ long.

Speaking of masks, I also have these little gems. They’re a little crazy looking due to having just been oiled but you get the idea
Three dimensional faces in Bloodwood. They are a little bit awesome, in my opinion. Designed so that the back of the face rests flush against the lobe and the face is the front flare. Very ear gargoyle-esque.

We like sugar skulls and we’re working on a line of them. Here are the first couple, in moose antler at 3/4″.

I’m kind of a fruitcake for flowers, and anyone that has watched Onetribe over the years has probably noticed that. We’ve had various sorts of semi-realistic flower designs and culturally inspired pieces like the Mayan flowers we offer. These are the former, and they are representative of a kind of Chrysanthemum we thought was pretty rad.

I also have an unhealthy man-love for really nice hanging styles, even though at my size I can’t wear them. When I was around 0-00g I wore hanging styles almost exclusively. These are really beautifully intricate pieces carved from moose antler, and we’ll be offering them in other materials as well. They are carved in the round and not only have several points where the design overlaps itself but they are also directional (the two sides are different).

I’m on kind of an art deco kick recently and we’d had these illustrated for quite a while. We decided to finally carve ‘em up and see how they turned out and I am pleasantly surprised with them. These are from shell, but of course they can be done in other materials.

I’ve been wanting to do some more geometric designs for a while now, and after I had so much fun working on the Indian Bloodstone Hopewell flowers I made a while back (which by the way we have put into production in both stone and wood), we decided to whip out the sketchbook and use some of the designs we’d been sitting on for a while. These are various Mesoamerican themed (but original) geometric flower plugs and geometric tunnels. We’ll be producing them in an array of materials. The flower pieces will also be done in a Mayan flared style with the flower petals as the flare.

I’d love feedback on any of these items, or suggestions for materials and sizes you guys would like to wear them in!
On the current stock front, I know we’re pretty low in some items right now, so bear with us. We’re working on a stock run of everything we currently carry to try and freshen up. If there’s anything wood wise you need we can make that to order, so regardless of what the stock on the site says, get in touch for that stuff and we can probably squeeze it in for you.
I’ll also have an update soon on the sustainability & urban agriculture non-profit project that myself and another local business owner are involved in. We just got a wonderful donation that will help us get our first community garden and greenspace project off the ground, and we recently gained access to a huge greenhouse on the grounds of an elementary school that we plan to do a childrens educational garden in, as well as some crops for donation to the local food bank and other local organizations (after school programs, summer camp lunches, etc). Everybody deserves fresh, healthy local food!
Yo…. Those suger skulls are f*ing dope….. I’m gonna require each of them in 1.5″……please……thank you…
Hey guys,
While the Chaak masks are brilliant in 1″, I’m a little envious of the art deco hanging styles.. Since I am at a 1″ lobe.
All my tattoos are art deco/ art nouveau pieces inspired by Alphonse Mucha, and I have been praying for art deco pieces for larger lobes… and I’m happy to hear that you are as hopeful as I am. Let me know if this is a possibility any time soon.
Andrew.
Oh WOW all of them are absolutely stunning…I especially love the flowers, the hanging moose antler design and I love the way the Chaak Masks look..Amazing
the masks and Mesoamerican pieces are freaking sick! can’t wait for those…any chance of them in nara?
I really like the chaak masks as well and hopefully they will be do-able in 1.5″ and if so I will be purchasing too….. I think those would be ill looking made out of lignum vitae because of the way it turns that dark military green over time……. Maybe gabon ebony…. But the bloodwood is definitly sick…..
The sugar skulls are pretty sick. I hope that they will be available in wood as well. I really love the Chrysanthemum styled flowers. They have loveliness written all over them. Oh, and the Chaak masks are exquisite.
Hopefully there will be some serious 1/2″ action going on. Especially with the skulls and flowers.
Those mask plugs are amazing!!
Those Mayan flower plugs and geometric design tunnels are beautiful. If you end up making some in the 0g range I will most certainly be buying a pair (or even two).
I’ve got smaller (2g) lobes due to the fact that I LOVE hanging styles and want to be able to wear them forever (I’m loving my Quetzacoatls, btw). I would buy those moose antler pieces in a heartbeat! I can’t wait until they go on sale, I’ll be the first buyer, I promise!
Andrew, how would you feel about art deco style hanging pieces that are weights? Also, we could probably do some plugs with shapes similar to these hanging styles carved into the face, perhaps with the backs hollowed out so you can see through the negative space.
#7 Cat Nelson,
It’s going to be a little tough to get the flowers carved in 1/2″. We MAY be able to carve the sugar skulls in 1/2″ but I can’t promise that. It is very, very difficult to carve detail into small faces, unfortunately.
The pieces that you produce are absolutely beautiful! Ever since I was introduced to this site, I’ve had a inner desire to stretch my earlobes just so I could wear some of your artwork. Alas, I work in an operating room, so I wouldn’t be able to wear the pieces very much, and from what I understand lobes can be a bit finnicky. I wouldn’t want to constantly be putting in and taking out jewlery all the time. Also, I don’t know that my employer would like me to stretch my lobes large enough to accommodate some of the pieces that I’ve seen (and loved). I suppose I’ll just have to appreciate the artwork here, then!
the new stuff is going to be great cant wait to order
Those Chaak masks and geometric pieces are just wonderful. If they’d be possible in 16mm I’d jump all over them…
…and once again the creative juices that fill Onetribe’s cup runneth over. I’m really diggin’ the masks and skulls, Jared…it kinda makes me want to get into something mischievious
I just noticed the Chaak masks have stretched lobes, too. The irony in all this…
Hey, I was looking at those sugar skulls again, and I was struck by the one on the right in the photo… that little guy wasn’t inspired by anything in particular, was he? I’m having a hard time finding a good photo to share, but he looks a lot like a character from an 80’s animated film that I was pretty much in love with as a kid. Anybody seen The Last Unicorn?
WOW! I just fell in love with the chaak mask and would definitely want a pair but 13/16″, so 20-21mm, they are probabaly the most amazing jewelry I’ve ever seen, I mean..Woow…
Also love the mask/troll/facelike thing plug, would like a pair of those too, same size as the chaak masks.
Cheers guys! You are amazing at what you do!
Those hanging styles are beautiful. If they come in 12mm I’ll be all over them.
Sometimes it would be nice to have small ears
Lookin’ good, as always!
I’m super excited for those hanging moose antler ones! I’m going to get some to wear at my wedding!
I want the sugar skulls in 1/2 too. Would it be possible to do the skulls in a larger size with a 1/2 back?
Man! The sugar skulls are breathtaking! Why must my ears be so tiny?! I may have to order some anyway and ask my sister to wrap them into a necklace.
the shell pieces are stunning! so delicate and in a material you don’t feature as often. i’ll take them in a 6g please. also, i like the idea of the crazy mask pieces where they aren’t quite plugs. Any chance for something in that direction with those gorgeous chrysanthemums?
Those sugar skulls are amazing I would love all of them in 3/4in they are just awesome looking.
Wow!!
Im very interested in those gargoyles!
But everything looks great as always!
I very much favour the floral designs on this site the most. Are they going to be a more common piece you produce, or is this just here to show case a taste of the custom work prowess you all possess?
regardless, I’m definately gonna buy a nice pair of those off of you someday soon. What type of rock/horn/wood though… decisions, decisions.
Wow … they’re fabulous! Love the sugar skulls and the gargoyle-esque faces. Michael wants a pair of each for himself, too!
Can’t wait for those moose antler hanging pieces, they are absolutely beautiful! Everything else looks great too but I’ve got a soft spot for the hanging ones myself.
phil, i was wonderng what the price would be for the meso american mask in a heavy material for weighting my ear my ear size is right around 9/16 and would like something heavy to continue streching
I love them all!! I especially love the sugar skulls!! Very cool!
WOW guys, you never cease to amaze me. Pieces like this are the reason custom jewelry far surpasses mass produced items. I really like them all, although some are not my style. Problem is, alot of these really speacialized custom pieces are fairly large gauge. I’m 5/8 and I don’t think my lobe can handle if i continue stretching (although I’ve had urges to keep going to 3/4). Would the chaak mask pieces, and sugar skulls be available in 5/8? The flower and geometric pieces are amazing as well.
I’m loving the Chrysanthemums!
I don’t know if this is an option or if someones already asked or if i should be doing this in the custom order’s section but will there be any more feminine looking sugar skulls? I don’t know if its very traditional to the culture behind them, but something a little more girly would be great
oh man..please tell me that second-to-last design can happen in 8g! those are awesome.
#34 er..0g, i mean
Both the sugar skulls and the flowers are suweet. I would kill for the skulls in 1″
I cannot tell you ho excited I am for the new flower designs! The Chrysanthemum is absolutely gorgeous. No doubt I will be pining for a pair of those until I get off my lazy butt and order them! Everything else is phenomenal as always.
I know I’m way late on them on bloodwood chaak mask but they are something nice.
in love with the sugar skulls i want them now!!
